Mahindra & Mahindra has sold the 70 percent stake it had at the Italian firm, Engines Engineering. The stake has been bought back by the promoter Alberto Strazzari. Reasons behind the sudden end to the three and a half year old partnership remain unclear. Engines Engineering caters to a wide list of clients, including the likes of Ducati, Honda and Yamaha amongst others. The same firm was largely responsible in the development of the four-stroke, 250cc MGP30 purpose built for Moto3 class.

Is this a move towards the Ducati purchase? We definitely know that Mahindra & Mahindra are among the top contenders for the big buy out valued at close to 1.38$ billion.
