Over the past few days, we’ve seen numerous leaked pictures and even a video clip of the upcoming and much anticipated Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and we were just waiting for the launch to finally happen. Well, it did. The all-new Gixxer SF 250 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 1.71 lakh.

We’ve already mentioned that this is an important product for Suzuki India as it has marked the brand’s entrance in the quarter-litre segment in the country. The Gixxer SF 250 is powered by a 249cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 26 horsepower and 22.6 Nm of torque. It is more powerful than the Yamaha Fazer 25 but has a similar figure when compared to the Honda CBR250R.
The styling of the new Gixxer is refreshing and should be able to attract more young buyers. Some of its most attractive features include new LED headlamp, dual barrel exhaust, and sculpted fuel tank. Previously we thought that the instrument cluster will be borrowed from the older Gixxer models but that’s not the case. It might look like the old one but has a new interface and looks much better. Suzuki has given the Gixxer SF 250 clip-on handlebars for that sporty feel but they seem to be set a bit higher so that you can have all the fun without compromising on comfort.

The Gixxer SF 250 looks like a good package when you compare it with similar bikes like the Honda CBR250R, Yamaha Fazer 25, and even the Pulsar RS200. But when you look at the price tag of Rs 1.71 lakh it reminds you that there is a more powerful and value-for-money package available in the market for just 4000 bucks more, the Bajaj Dominar 400, and this is the point from where things take a U-turn. It would be interesting to see how the new Suzuki is received by the audience.
