Honda has finally launched its new BS6 Honda Activa 125 Fi in India at a starting price of Rs 67,490. It is the first BS6 compliant two-wheeler coming out from the Japanese factory for the Indian customers. Honda Activa completely changed the scooter segment in the country ever since it was launched many years ago and it continues to do so even today.
Honda has done certain changes in the new Active 125 to make it BS6 complaint. It still has the same 124cc single-cylinder engine which has gone through various internal tweaks. For example, Honda has used lighter engine components. Also, the new Activa is fuel-injected, therefore, it produces slightly less power (8.1hp) than the outgoing model (8.52hp).
Honda has also implemented its HET (Honda Eco Technology), ESP (enhanced smart power), and noiseless alternate current generator (ACG) starter. Along with these, the scooter also gets LED headlight and position lamp, redesigned tail lamp, chrome embellishments, and semi-digital instrument console.
Another great feature that Honda has added is the side stand indicator that also works as an engine inhibitor. It means that it will not allow the engine to start if the side stand is down. It is kind of a safety feature, you can say. And we also get, and finally, get an external fuel tank lid making filling fuel much easier. Honda is also providing a 3-year standard warranty with the new Activa 125 Fi which can be extended to another 3 years.
The new Activa 125 Fi is available in three variants – Standard, Alloy and Deluxe – which are priced at Rs 67,490, Rs 70,990, and Rs 74,490 respectively. There are new colour options as well – Rebel Red Metallic, Black, Heavy Grey Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Pearl Precious White and Majestic Brown Metallic.
(All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi)
