Yamaha‘s continued effort to stamp a larger authority on the Indian motorcycle market has resulted in another new motorcycle from the top brand. The new Yamaha Saluto 125, a 125 cc machine. The Yamaha Saluto 125 price and colour options are interesting, at Rs. 52,000/- ex-showroom Delhi, Yamaha are keeping it very competitive. Colour options include Victory Red and Brave Black. Yamaha are banking on the Saluto 125 to make an impression on the people upgrading from scooters and basic 100 cc commuters. The Yamaha Saluto 125 claims to return a mileage of 78 kmpl on the benchmark tests and that should translate to a 50+ on road kmpl realistically. Another key highlight of the new Yamaha Saluto 125 is its weight. At 112 kg, its kerb weight is just as much as a scooter and that should have a strong impact on its ease of use. Other key features include tubeless tyres, self start and quite a high ground clearance of 180 mm. Sadly misses a disc brake at least for the front. Yamaha are keen to point out that their Blue Core technology, which basically ensures a highly efficient engine also ensures a fun ride with no compromise on power and reliability.
