Bajaj Avenger, an indigenous cruiser for the masses, received a much needed upgrade by the company in October 2015. Bajaj not only brought new design elements but it also presented the bike with different engine options which include – 150 Street, 220 Street and 220 Cruise. At the time of the launch Bajaj made available only a single colour option for each variant. So, in order to bring in some liveliness Bajaj has added Desert Gold as the new Avenger 220 Cruise colour option.
The Avenger is a good looking motorcycle and the new model is even better. It has always attracted a good chunk of buyers in the market and we think that the new Desert Gold Avenger 220 Cruise colour option will attract a lot more. Bajaj has also given a new brown colour seat to blend in with the new colour scheme.
Bajaj has kept the mechanicals of the bike untouched. Under that classic fuel tank sits a single cylinder, 220cc, Twin-Spark, 2-valve air-oil-cooled engine that churns out 18.76 BHP of power and 17.5 Nm of torque. The riding stance is comfortable and relaxed which complies with the cruising nature of the motorcycle.
It is good to know that Bajaj will be selling the new Desert Gold Avenger 220 Cruise colour option at the same price, i.e., INR 83,197 (Ex showroom, Maharashtra). There is a high possibility that just like the Avenger 220 Cruise, Bajaj would bring in updates and new colours for its other Avengers – the 150 Street and the 220 Street. This will increase its portfolio and consequently, and hopefully, its sales.
