Offering a fresh take on cruisers in India, the Honda Rebel 300 mixes old- and new-school style and is supposedly engaging and fun to ride, with an outlook geared toward firing the imagination of a younger generation of riders. Development for the model began in the U.S., with the objective of referencing a timeless look while also introducing a forward-thinking, contemporary style all their own. It features a straightforward, minimalist design with a low, lean bobber silhouette.
The engine is a 286 cc single cylinder one with liquid cooling and fuel injection. Interestingly unlike other cruisers or bobber’s, the Honda Rebel 300 has a curb weight of only 165 kgs. Power and torque figures are estimated to be around the 27 HP and 29 Nm mark which should be good enough considering its weight. Other spec include a 11.3 litre tank, a dual disc braking setup and a six speed gear box. Seat height is a low 691 mm and ground clearance 137 mm.

The evocative round, glass headlight sits up high in a die-cast aluminium mount, the speedometer is a compact dial with negative LCD display and blue back-light, and the ignition is housed below the left side of the fuel tank. Everything that can be is blacked out.
The bikes’ riding position is relaxed and neutral, with arms gently outstretched and feet dropping straight down to the mid-mounted pegs. While there is optional ABS on the international model, we hope Honda India does not skimp on it to watch the pricing.
Honda is expected to make an announcement regarding the motorcycle at the coming Auto Expo 2018. Pricing should be around the 2.5 – 3 lakh mark.
