Latest information suggests that Yamaha is readying a new bike for launch on the 21st of January 2019 in the Indian market. There are no hints officially provided as to the model that will launch. However, recent speculation suggests that it may be the Yamaha FZ FI V3.0 which has been spotted testing lately. However, the XTZ 125 was also seen testing sometime earlier so nothing is still confirmed. Additionally, there is speculation about the new bike being the MT 15, which is a naked avatar of the YZF R15 V3.0, but that seems to be the more unlikely option.

The new bike is most likely to be the new Yamaha FZ FI V3.0 which should get a few styling tweaks along with a belly pan, tank extensions and faux air scoops and also a muscular fuel tank. In general, we think it will look a lot similar to the FZ 25. The ORVMs look unique while the design of the headlight seems quite novel too. There could be LEDs used for the headlamp unit for superior illumination and the front fender also will be redesigned as compared to the current model. There will also be a single saddle which will replace the split and deckered setup for the current version. The rear grab rail may also be a single unit.

The alloy wheel pattern may be quite similar to those for the R15 V3 and the tyre size and profile may be the same as the present FZ. The rear, side and central panels may sport a new design and the exhaust muffler may look chunkier. The rear section will remain the same and the new generation FZ FI V3.0 engine may be worked upon for adhering to upcoming emission regulations and power figures may go up slightly as well. Single channel ABS could be available as standard.
