Suzuki India has now launched the 2019 Suzuki Hayabusa in India with two brand new colour choices, namely Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Oort Gray in tandem with new graphics and added side reflectors. The new 2019 Hayabusa comes for INR 13.74 lakhs (ex-showroom) and deliveries should start sometime early 2019. Although there are some design tweaks the four stroke 1340 cc liquid cooled fuel injected DOHC mill has been retained for the bike and mechanically it remains the same as a whole.
Satoshi Uchida, the Managing Director at Suzuki Motor India Private Limited (SMIPL), stated that over the last two decades, the Hayabusa has been acclaimed as one of the world’s foremost sportsbikes and has garnered a huge fan following of its own in the Indian market as well. He added that the company strives to offer the best products to buyers in the country and also stated that the new colour schemes should appeal to more enthusiasts here.
The engine makes 199.7 PS and 115 Nm of peak torque and is paired to a 6-speed transmission system. The Hayabusa was the first production bike globally to cross 300 kilometres per hour. Suzuki has been importing the popular bike in the form of CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits for India and these are being assembled at the company’s plant at Manesar in Gurgaon. Suzuki has already discontinued production for the Hayabusa in the European market after almost 20 years. A new Hayabusa may be introduced by the year 2022 and this will adhere to emission regulations in the Indian and global markets alike.
