Tork Motors has been testing its debut electric machine, the Tork T6X electric bike on Indian roads. The bike has been spied testing recently and seems to sport an in-house trellis frame that has the battery pack positioned as the stressed member. The sub-frame begins from below the seat of the rider and the electric motor is placed just below it, this should improve mass centralisation. The shorter trellis frame system enables hinging of the tubular steel swing-arm around the electric motor which enables a longer swing-arm for the motorcycle without any compromise to the low centre of gravity.
Power is shifted to the rear wheel through the chain drive and a big sprocket. The electric motor seems to be positioned right on the swing-arm like regular internal-combustion engine based scooters. There are telescopic front forks along with a rear mono-shock as expected. Tork had previously stated that it was working on a 6 kW electric motor and this is the same one observed on the test model. There are front and rear disc brakes with CBS as well. This makes the bike adhere to upcoming safety regulations in India which stipulate that electric two-wheelers making 11 kW should have CBS and vehicles making more than this should have ABS.

The peak torque of 27 Nm should enable seamless cruising at speeds over 100 kilometres per hour. Tork has reportedly claimed that the battery can easily charge up to 80% within one hour and offers a range of 100 kilometres. The battery will also be IP-certified and waterproof. There are raised and wide handlebars along with marginally rear-set foot pegs. There should be panels for the sub-frame on the production model. Tork Motors is expected to launch the production version by the end of 2019 or early in 2020. Prices are expected to be somewhere around INR 1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
