The new and much awaited Yamaha MT-15 is preparing for its grand launch in India in March 2019. Some of the dealers have already started taking in bookings for an amount between Rs. 2000 to Rs. 10,000 depending upon the dealership. The ex-showroom price is expected to be around 1.2-1.3 lakh. Further confirmation of the launch comes from documentation that has surfaced and of course the promo video shown to dealers (screenshots below).

The good thing is that while there are many parts that have been changed to cut down the cost to suit the Indian market, the characteristic headlight design has been retained. One such cost cutting is by not including the USD forks in the front but instead there is a telescopic fork. The design of the fuel tank and the tank shrouds look exactly the same as that of the international model. From earlier spy pics we know that the swing-arm is also different from the one on the R15 V3.

Dual ABS will be standard and the braking of the front and rear disc is 282 mm and 220 mm respectively. Engine will be the same with the VVA tech and produce 19.3 Ps @ 10,000 RPM and 15 Nm @ 8,500 RPM.
