Yamaha India has officially launched the 2019 Yamaha MT-09 in the country at INR 10,55,354 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes the bike costlier by roughly INR 16,000 than the earlier version. Bookings have commenced for the 2019 model across select Yamaha dealerships. The 2019 version only gets a colour option named Night Fluo which fuses white base paint and black coloured headlight shrouds and tank shrouds with red coloured rims. There is a red finish for the MT-09 logo on the fuel tank as well.
There are no other mechanical changes for the bike which gets the single-piece flat handlebar which offers upright ergonomics while enabling a more aggressive position for riding. There is the twin-pod LED headlight and dual tone finish with black shrouds for the fuel tank which has a capacity of 14 litres. There is also a single-piece flat saddle with an LED tail light. The tyre hugger gets the number plate for a neater look.
The 2019 Yamaha MT-09 comes with an inline-three 847 cc liquid cooled four stroke DOHC engine that makes 115 PS and 87.5 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission system while there is the YZF-R1 quick shift system or QSS. There is also slipper clutch/assist along with Traction Control and ABS. Kerb weight stands at 193 kg for the motorcycle.
