Pune-based Avan Motors has launched its Xero+ (Plus) e-scooter at just INR 47,000 in the Indian market. The scooter comes with an 800 watt electric motor and dual lithium-ion battery packs. These batteries can be easily charged within two to four hours and will have a range of 60 kilometres on a single battery. The combined driving riding range will be around 110 kilometres. These are removable batteries and can be charged through regular power supply sockets in households.
The top speed of the e-scooter will be 45 kilometres per hour and there are Blue, Red and White colour choices on offer. There is also a top box of 15.2 litres at the back for extra storage. There is a front disc brake along with a rear drum brake and telescopic front forks with twin coil springs at the rear. 150 kg is the maximum load that can be taken by this e-scooter. There is an extended warranty along with a spare parts tool kit for buyers.
The company is planning to notch up sales figures of 25,000 units this year and has a production facility at Pune’s Hinjewadi which can manufacture up to 36,000 units annually at present. It also has 25 points across India and this will go up to 200 charging points by end-2019. Avan Motors is also working on the Big Bore and E-Street electric motorcycles which were showcased earlier. These could be launched by the year 2022.
