Last month we reported about the launch date of the latest 2019 BMW S1000RR in India which is set for 25th June. With only numbered days remaining, BMW Motorrad India has released a teaser of the new bike.

The teaser image shows the new twin LED headlight setup that comes integrated with LED DRLs. This new face of the S1000RR is going to replace the iconic and beloved asymmetric look of the old model. Well, things do change, right?

The new S1000RR would come with a host of changes to make it go even faster. Its 999cc powerplant would produce somewhere around 207PS at 13.5k rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11.5k rpm. The bike is going to be a complete hooligan which likes its throttle to whacked open all the time. The new model will also go some weight reduction to help in its performance and handling.

Just like most of today’s superbikes, the S1000RR will have a host of (updated) electronic rider aids like a six-axis IMU cornering ABS, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), hill start assist, engine brake control, and different riding modes. Also, the new 6.5-inch TFT display would be a welcoming feature.

As far as the 2019 BMW S1000RR price is concerned, it’s obviously going to be a bit expensive than the 2018 model and is expected to fall somewhere around Rs 20-21 lakh price bracket. The official details will be announced pretty soon, so hold on to your horses for a few more days.

The BMW S1000RR has always been my favourite and dream sportbike. Has it been yours, too?
