Yamaha recently introduced three new R15 V3 colour options for the enthusiasts in Thailand. The new paint jobs include a black and red combo, a grey and yellow, and a blue with black. All three of them look fantastic but if you’d ask us to pick one, we’d go with the blue and black combination because it feels more Yamaha.

We appreciate Yamaha coming up with these new shades to lure in more young customers. But we feel a bit left out. The R15 V3 has got a huge fan following here in India as well and we’re pretty sure that people are going to love the new colours which would definitely impact the sales of the bike. We just hope that Yamaha doesn’t forget us and brings the new colour options to India pretty soon.
At present, the R15 V3 is available in three colours – thunder grey, racing blue, and dark night – and comes at a price of Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). You’d need to spend Rs 2,000 more for the dark night colour.

The Indian-spec R15 V3 falls short on a few features when compared to the international model to keep the cost in check. For example, we miss out on the front USD forks. Things are quite similar when it comes to the engine; it’s a 155cc liquid-cooled single putting out 19.3PS at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm at 8,500rpm. Thanks to Yamaha’s VVA, there’s ample amount of torque throughout the rev band.
If Yamaha launches the new colour options in India, the R15 V3 will then have a total of six shades. Which one would you pick then?
