If you have been planning to buy a Kawasaki Z900, now is the time. Why? Because Kawasaki has just launched a special edition Z900 at Rs 7.99 lakh. Yes, it costs 30 grand more than the previous Z900 but there are elements to justify that hike.
What’s new?
The special edition Z900 borrows certain design cues or elements from the latest 2020 Z900. So you will find a restyled headlamp, bikini fairing, fuel tank extensions, etc. These features give the bike a refreshed look and appeal.
Kawasaki has also replaced the halogen headlights with new LED units. It also added the new 4.3-in TFT dash that comes with Bluetooth connectivity. Also, Kawasaki’s Rideology mobile app provides a plethora of information.
Kawasaki also amended the electronics package of the updated Z900. It now gets a three-level Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) and two power modes – Low and Full. Low power mode reduces the power by 55 percent making riding on uncertain surfaces easier. There are four riding modes as well – Sport, Road, Rain and Ride, the last one being customisable. And lastly, we have Dunlop Sportsmax Roadsport 2 tyres.
Engine specs?
You might have thought that the special edition Kawasaki Z900 has a BS6-compliant engine. Well, we did, too, and we were wrong. This bike will be powered by the same old 948cc, in-line four-cylinder, BS4 engine that churns out 123bhp and 98Nm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Kawasaki has said that the special edition Z900 is a limited-edition model and will be available only until March 20, however, it didn’t say how many it will actually make. Bookings for the same are now open at all authorised dealerships.
All prices are ex-showroom
