The 2020 Kawasaki Z650 BS-VI is all set to be launched in India shortly. Reports state that the motorcycle will be priced at Rs 5.94 lakh, which is Rs 25,000 higher than the previous BS-VI version. It offers a lot more in terms of features and comes with a few design changes as well.
The Kawasaki Z650 is one of the best naked/streetfighter motorcycles in the mid-weight segment. Enthusiasts loved the motorcycle for its ability to please in terms of performance. Its parallel-twin engine is one of the torquiest motors in the segment and made for a brilliant riding experience.
However, in terms of features, it came with just the minimal. The BS-IV Kawasaki Ninja Z650 had a small digital instrument console that didn’t really offer a lot of information to the rider. Now though, things have changed with the 2020 model.
The first major difference one would find with the 2020 BS-VI model is the sharper design on the fuel-tank extensions. Combined with the new sleeker LED projector headlamps, it makes the bike look more aggressive.
The biggest feature addition is the new 4.3-inch TFT colour screen to handle instrumentation duties. It certainly displays a lot more information and can even be used for navigation. Users can connect their smartphone to the screen using bluetooth, via the Kawasaki Rideology app.
The 2020 Kawasaki Z650 BS-VI is powered by the same liquid-cooled, 649cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine. It has the same maximum power output of 67.2bhp and a peak torque output of 65.7Nm as the BS-IV model.
Braking duties are handled by twin petal discs up front and a single petal disc at the rear. A conventional telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear handles suspension duties.
