Bajaj Auto has hiked prices of the Pulsar 150 Neon by Rs 5,000. The latest price hike ups the price tag to Rs 90,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The reason for the price being hiked is unknown at the moment.
The automobile industry is currently in a downward spiral with sales dropping across brands and manufacturers. Almost all manufacturers have taken losses from the temporary shut down mandated due to the lockdown imposed across the country.
As a result of this, several manufacturers are hiking prices of vehicles and the latest among them is Bajaj, increasing prices of the Pulsar 150 Neon. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 has been around for ages and has been the best-selling Pulsar model.
In November 2018, Bajaj launched the Pulsar 150 Neon with a few aesthetic changes that was supposed to make it more attractive to buyers. Back then, it was launched at a price of Rs 64,889 and it instantly became the least-expensive motorcycle in the Pulsar range of motorcycles.
Several months later, Bajaj launched the Pulsar 125 Neon which took the title of the least expensive Pulsar. At the same time, Bajaj Auto kept increasing prices of the Pulsar 150 Neon eventually resulting in a price tag of Rs 74,664.
Then in April 2020, Bajaj updated the motorcycle with fuel-injection and a repositioned catalytic converter, and along with this update came a price increase of Rs 10,336 which is the biggest price hike the bike has seen. Now, the price has gone up by Rs 5,000 again and it hasn’t gained any new equipment in the process.
An ex-showroom price of Rs 90,000 means that the on-road price is well over Rs 1 lakh. Despite this, it is less-expensive compared to its primary rival — the TVS Apache RTR 160 by nearly Rs 7,000.
