The 2020 Motorcycle Live show has been canceled. This news just adds on to an already long list of motoring and motorsport events canceled this year. The organisers of the show had to cancel this year’s show and are hoping for a better 2021 so that the show would go on next year.
2020 has not really been a year of triumphs for many businesses, industries and events thanks to the pandemic. What used to be some of the most exciting events until last year have been reduced to almost nothing this year. Major automotive shows have been canceled this year. The latest one to bite the dust is the 2020 Motorcycle Live show.
It is a show that takes place in Italy immediately after EICMA. Motorcycle Live is one of the best motorcycle shows in the world and plays a pivotal role in the industry as many manufacturers prefer showcasing their new products at this show. Well, manufacturers aren’t really interested in big, expensive shows especially this year.
Manufacturers have taken losses upon losses and not much of product development has happened this year thanks to the lockdown. As a result of this, big shows and expos are viewed as being an expense rather than being profitable.
Brands like KTM and BMW have both announced that they would not be participating in EICMA. It is obvious that manufacturers are now preferring online showcases and launches. However, the feel of these big launch events and auto shows cannot be replicated. We sure hope things get back to normal soon.
