The CFMoto 250 SR has been launched in the Malaysian market. The full-faired supersport motorcycle from CFMoto has been launched in Malaysia at a starting price of MYR 15,800 (Rs 2.8 lakh).
CFMoto has also launched a special limited edition of the motorcycle at MYR 17,800 (Rs 3.14 lakh). Only 30 units of the special edition will be sold. The 250cc segment is currently one of the hottest motorcycle segments in South-Asian markets.
Several manufacturers are vying for the top spot in this segment and this has led to competition like never before in this category. More recently, Kawasaki rode in the Ninja ZX-25R, competing with the Honda CBR250RRR. These two, 4-cylinder, 250cc machines make up the cream layer of the 250cc segment.
Simultaneously, there are other manufacturers looking to compete with less-complicated machines. This is where CFMoto slots in with the 250 SR. The CFMoto 250 SR is a supersport motorcycle that looks great, has a decent amount of power and isn’t very expensive as well.

It comes equipped with full LED lighting, a full-colour TFT display for instrumentation, riding modes, underbelly exhaust, etc. The CFMoto 250 SR is powered by a liquid-cooled, 249.2cc, single-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of 27.6bhp at 9,750rpm and a peak torque output of 22Nm at 7,500rpm. A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel.
Suspension duties are handled by a 37mm upside-down fork up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends of the bike. The CFMoto 250 SR will not be launched in the Indian market. In India, we expect CFMoto to bring in the bigger 300 SR.
It is slightly more powerful, and is based on the CFMoto 300 NK that was earlier on sale in India. We expect the faired motorcycle to be launched later this year.
