The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-10RR have been revealed. Kawasaki has revealed the 2021 Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR with lots of new features, updated styling, better chassis dynamics, etc. The motorcycles are also now Euro 5 emissions norms compliant. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and RR have for a long time now been among the fastest motorcycles in the world.
It has dominated the superbike scene on the road and on the racetrack for years, and now it is time for an update. Starting January 2021, all motorcycles sold in Europe will have to be Euro 5 emissions norms compliant and therefore all motorcycle manufacturers are launching new updates.
Kawasaki too had to update the Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR for Euro 5 and took this opportunity to update many other facets of the motorcycle. The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR both get a brand-new design language. It features sharp lines and creases and a front fascia that’s inspired by the bigger Ninja H2.
Though the design is polarising, it is, without doubt, more aggressive than the outgoing model. It also gets integrated winglets for the very first time, which Kawasaki claims creates 17 percent more downforce than the outgoing motorcycle’s cowling. It also gets a revised riding position thanks to the footpegs being positioned higher and a handlebar taken straight from the WSBK dominating ZX-10RR.
The 2021 models retain the same basic engine from the current model, with several changes. It now gets electronically actuated valves, an updated oil-cooler, and a new exhaust system that helps it comply with Euro 5 emissions norms. It pushes out a maximum power figure of 200bhp at 13,200rpm and 114.9Nm at 11,400rpm. It uses titanium valves and a lightened crankshaft.
The engine is now a load-bearing member of the chassis. Several changes have been made to the chassis as well. It gets a longer swingarm and greater fork offset. The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR also come with the most advanced electronics. It features launch control, ABS, quick-shifter traction control, cruise control, etc.
The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR come with a brand-new 4.3-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. The motorcycles ride on full adjustable suspension from Showa. Apart from these, the ZX-10RR comes with updated camshafts, new valve springs, new connecting rods, and pistons.
It doesn’t really show a huge improvement over the ZX-10R in terms of power output, but should outperform the R in race conditions. The new models will be launched in India in the first quarter of 2021.
