The Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak edition might just debut soon. Leaked certification documents have revealed that Ducati is all set to launch the Pikes Peak edition of the Multistrada V4 in the American market. It will feature top-spec Öhlins suspension among a few other premium cycle parts and lots of carbon fibre.
The Pikes Peak edition of the Ducati Multistrada is always considered the quickest variant in the Multistrada line-up. It is named after the legendary Pikes Peak hill climb event that takes place in America every year. The Pikes Peak hill climb is one of those much-loved motorsport events in the world thanks to its sheer speed and adventure.
Pikes Peak is the highest summit of the Southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in North America. Riders and drivers in the hill climb event tackle over 156 corners over the 20-kilometre course, climbing 4,720feet during the hill-climb. Quite simply, it is one of the most exciting and dangerous motorsport events in the world.
Ducati has been a regular at the Pikes Peak hill climb and hence named the quickest variant of the Multistrada 1200 and Multistrada 1260 after Pikes Peak. The Pikes Peak editions of the Multistrada 1200 and 1260 featured fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension instead of Ducati’s Skyhook active suspension. They also came with lighter forged alloy wheels.
Now that Ducati is making a Pikes Peak edition of the 2021 Multistrada V4, we expect similar changes on this model too. The Multistrada V4 is expected to be powered by the same liquid-cooled, 1,158cc V4 engine with a maximum power output of 167.5bhp and a peak torque output of 125Nm. It comes with top-spec electronics and top-shelf components.
The new Pikes Peak edition of the Ducati Multistrada V4 is expected to be launched in America soon. At this moment, we’re unsure when the motorcycle will be launched in the Indian market.
