Okinawa Oki100 Teaser

Okinawa is an Indian electric vehicle manufacturer that has launched a few electric scooters till now. At the 2018 Indian Auto Expo, Okinawa revealed the Oki100 which is its first electric motorcycle. The Oki100 in its concept form was well-received. In terms of size, it was very similar to a minibike.

The design and styling seemed very influenced by the Ducati Monster. Up front, it features an oval headlamp, and right above it is the instrumentation. It also features a muscular fuel tank and exposed bits of the frame. In place of an engine, however, it gets the battery and motor, covered by lots of plastic panels.

The numbers quoted by Okinawa were very impressive indeed. The company claimed that the Oki100 had a range of 150 kilometres and a top speed of 100km/h, which is why it is named Oki100. The launch of the Oki100 was expected to take place between October and December 2020. It was, however, postponed due to the pandemic.

The motorcycle behind the mist is quite obviously the Okinawa Oki100. At this moment it is unknown if Okinawa will continue with the same name, and also if the motorcycle will come with the same specifications.

The Okinawa Oki100 in its concept form rode on an upside-down fork and a monoshock. The electric motorcycle features a 12-inch wheel up front and a 10-inch wheel at the rear. It remains to be seen if the production motorcycle will also feature the same configuration. Going by the teaser, the Okinawa Oki100 might be launched in March or April 2021.
