KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, stated that the company is leading the electric vehicle (EV) transformation in India. In the previous financial year, TVS iQube, their range of electric scooters, achieved a significant sales milestone of 100,000 units, reflecting the satisfaction of their strong customer base. As of May 2023, TVS iQube has surpassed 20,000 units in retail sales and maintains a healthy booking pipeline of over 30,000 units.
Radhakrishnan further added that the government’s FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) subsidy will gradually reduce in the coming quarters. Nonetheless, TVS Motor remains committed to providing appealing product options and excellent value propositions to propel the adoption of electric two-wheelers in the country. To support customers of TVS iQube who made bookings before May 20, 2023, and alleviate the cost burden resulting from the revised FAME II subsidy, the company will introduce a limited-time loyalty benefit program. Starting June 1, 2023, new customers can also benefit from the new prices without bearing the full burden of the revised FAME II subsidy upon booking the vehicle.
Manu Saxena, Senior Vice President of Electric Vehicles at TVS Motor Company, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable electrification. Following the FAME II revision, TVS iQube’s prices will increase by approximately Rs. 17,000 – Rs. 22,000, depending on the variant, starting from June 1, 2023. TVS Motor will also extend an additional loyalty benefit to customers who pre-booked before May 20, 2023. More details regarding this will be provided on the company’s website soon.
