Ducati Corse has announced a two-year agreement with Marc Márquez. At the end of the current season, in which the Spanish rider is competing on the Desmosedici GP with the Gresini Racing MotoGP team, the eight-time World Champion (31 years old) will join the Ducati Lenovo Team alongside Francesco Bagnaia. Márquez will ride the red bike of the Borgo Panigale-based team until 2026.
Luigi Dall’Igna (General Manager of Ducati Corse) said: “Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martín for their contributions over the past few years and wish them the best for the future. This season, they have demonstrated remarkable progress, and we are confident they will be contenders for the Title until the end. Choosing Bagnaia’s new teammate for the Ducati Lenovo Team was challenging, given the strong list of candidates. Ultimately, we selected Marc Márquez, an undeniable talent. In just a few races, he has adapted exceptionally well to our Desmosedici GP, and his relentless ambition drives continuous growth. With two riders boasting a combined 11 World Titles, their experience and maturity will be invaluable for our development.”
Marc Márquez commented: “I am delighted to wear the red colors of the factory Ducati team in MotoGP next season. From my first experience with the Desmosedici GP, I enjoyed riding it and adapted quickly. I knew then that I wanted to continue this journey, grow further, and join the team where Pecco Bagnaia has been the World Champion for two consecutive years. I am excited about this significant step in 2025 and grateful for Ducati’s trust in me. I also want to thank Nadia, Carlo, Michele, and the entire Gresini Racing family for welcoming me during a critical time in my career. For now, my focus remains on having fun and giving my best in the current season.”
