Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited (HEID), a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., is set to launch its Honda e:Swap services in conjunction with the debut of the ACTIVA e: by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI). This innovative battery swap service will commence in Bengaluru in February 2025, followed by New Delhi and Mumbai in April 2025, marking a significant leap forward in Honda’s commitment to sustainable mobility and carbon neutrality.
What is Honda e:Swap?
The Honda e:Swap service is designed to provide ACTIVA e: riders with seamless access to battery swapping stations, enabling them to replace discharged Honda Mobile Power Pack e: batteries with fully charged ones. Users can register for the service via the HEID mobile app, ensuring a hassle-free and integrated experience from the moment they purchase their vehicle.

Expansion Plans: A Robust Network by 2026
HEID aims to create India’s largest battery swap network, starting with three major cities:
- Bengaluru: 250 battery swapping stations by March 2026.
- Delhi NCR: 150 stations by March 2026.
- Mumbai: 100 stations by March 2026.
Battery swapping stations will be strategically located at HPCL outlets, metro stations like those operated by BMRCL and DMRC, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited locations, and HMSI dealerships.

HEID began its journey in India in November 2021, initially focusing on electric auto rickshaws. The expansion into the two-wheeler segment is a natural progression in Honda’s vision of promoting green mobility. By addressing range anxiety and reducing costs, HEID is redefining how electric vehicles are perceived in India.
To support its ambitious plans, HEID secured additional funding of ₹2.2 billion in August 2024, which will drive network expansion and service enhancements.
