Raptee.HV has emerged as the first Indian two-wheeler manufacturer to indigenously design and develop a patented high-voltage powertrain for its electric motorcycle. This advanced powertrain technology, commonly used in electric cars globally, sets Raptee.HV apart in the Indian EV market.

The company officially launched its first motorcycle, the T30, on October 14, 2024, receiving an overwhelming response with over 8,000 registrations across India, successfully meeting its first-year sales target of $25 million. The company is set to begin deliveries in Chennai and Bangalore in the first quarter of 2025-26.

Raptee.HV has filed a total of 156 patents related to its high-voltage powertrain and design, showcasing its commitment to innovation and technological advancements.

Raptee.HV Achieves ARAI Certification for India’s First High-Voltage Electric Two-Wheeler

Today, Raptee.HV announced that it had received certification from ARAI for its T30 motorcycle, marking it as India’s first electric two-wheeler to utilize high-voltage technology commonly used in electric cars. With this certification, the T30 becomes the only electric two-wheeler in India compatible with the CCS2 DC fast-charging standard used by electric cars. ARAI, India’s highest automobile certification authority, plays a crucial role in ensuring vehicles meet regulatory and safety standards before they can be road-legal and registered in the country.

Since its inception in 2019, Raptee.HV has been dedicated to revolutionizing electric mobility by bringing globally advanced electric car technology to two-wheelers at an optimized price. The launch of the T30 and its subsequent ARAI certification mark significant milestones in this journey.

With the T30 designed to rival 300cc ICE motorcycles, Raptee.HV has successfully achieved price parity, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.39 lakhs. Additionally, government EV tax subsidies further reduce the on-road cost, making it an attractive proposition for consumers.

Dinesh Arjun, CEO & Co-Founder of Raptee.HV, highlighted the importance of this milestone, stating, “We are setting a precedent here, and we believe the entire motorcycle ecosystem will inevitably transition to high voltage, much like the electric car industry due to its innate advantages. Certification of an entirely new architecture means developing not just the subcomponents but also the performance, safety, and validation standards, co-creating the supplier ecosystem, and actively working with regulatory bodies to establish new industry standards. While it has taken us six years to build the HV architecture for our first motorcycle, our platforms are now in place to support the launch of a new motorcycle every 12 months moving forward.”

T30: Revolutionizing the Electric Two-Wheeler Market

Raptee.HV’s T30 has been engineered to provide an exceptional riding experience, leveraging its HV tech powertrain, advanced ride dynamics, and industry-leading software features. Apart from offering superior performance compared to ICE motorcycles, the T30 provides significant advantages over other EV two-wheelers, particularly in terms of charging convenience.

As the first and only two-wheeler to access India’s extensive DC fast-charging ecosystem, which currently boasts over 22,000 charging stations, the T30 offers unparalleled charging flexibility. Its HV tech enables industry-leading home charging solutions, including the fastest charging speeds, the most powerful onboard charger, and the lightest and most portable external charging cable.

Jayapradeep Vasudevan, Chief Business Officer of Raptee.HV, emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating, “This certification from ARAI is true validation of the dedication and effort our team has put in over the last six years. Building an entirely new high-voltage technology for electric two-wheelers is a phenomenal milestone for any auto OEM, and for Raptee.HV, it represents a significant breakthrough. Our HV technology not only enhances the riding experience but also addresses key industry barriers such as reliability and charging anxiety. With the T30 entering the mid-size motorcycle segment, we have designed our ownership experience to align with global benchmarks and high customer expectations. We are eager to begin deliveries in Chennai and Bangalore, followed by a phased expansion into other markets. While our primary focus is India, the T30 has a strong global market fit due to its compatibility with DC fast chargers worldwide and its competitive pricing.”

With an 8-year battery warranty—matching the industry standard for electric cars—the T30 eliminates one of the primary concerns associated with EVs: reliability. This, combined with its superior performance and price competitiveness, positions it as a game-changer in the electric two-wheeler space.

As Raptee.HV prepares for its next phase of growth, the company is actively seeking additional funding to support its aggressive expansion plans. Having previously raised capital in October 2023 from investors, Raptee.HV is now in discussions to secure $19 million to meet its growing working capital demands and accelerate its market penetration.
