Electric motorcycles are gaining momentum in India especially for efficient commuting. Revolt Motor has positioned its new Revolt RV BlazeX as an affordable alternative to 125cc petrol bikes, the BlazeX promises practicality, performance, and eco-friendliness. Priced at ₹1,14,000, it sits just below the flagship RV 400 and aims to cater to daily commuters. But does it deliver on its promises? We just rode it and let’s dive into the details.

Design and Build Quality
The RV BlazeX sports a minimalist, commuter-friendly design, borrowing elements from the RV1 and RV1+. It features a round LED headlamp, LED indicators, and a long single-piece seat that’s well-cushioned for comfort. The 790mm seat height makes it accessible for riders of all sizes, and the 250kg payload capacity ensures it can handle more than just the rider—perfect for carrying groceries or a pillion.
However, we wish the final attention to detail was a bit higher. While the fit and finish are adequate for the segment, the charging socket cover feels flimsy and could break with a hard tug. The wiring around the handlebar and switchgear quality also feel budget-oriented. Additionally, the absence of a traditional start button might catch new riders off guard, as the bike is ready to go as soon as you turn the key, but that surely is something that one will get used to, you also have the engine kill switch to manage.
Features: Tech-Savvy and Practical
The Revolt RV BlazeX comes packed with features that enhance convenience and connectivity:
- 6-inch LCD Display: Offers Bluetooth connectivity, app-based features like geo-fencing, and over-the-air updates.
- Three Riding Modes: Eco, City, and Sport modes cater to different riding styles and battery conservation needs.
- Removable Battery: The 3.24kWh battery can be removed and charged at home, though its 20kg weight might be cumbersome for those without ground-floor charging options.
- Reverse Function: A handy feature for tight parking spots.
The display is a standout addition and the buttons beside it require a firm press. The bike also supports optional accessories like a windscreen, wheel stickering, and a crash guard, though pricing for these extras wasn’t disclosed.

Performance and Handling
The RV BlazeX is powered by a new electric motor that delivers 4.1kW of peak power and 45Nm of torque (180Nm at the wheel). Revolt claims a top speed of 85kph and a range of 150km (IDC), making it a capable commuter. We thing in real world that should translate to 100+kms of range with normal riding.
During my test ride on a go-kart track, the BlazeX surprised me with its peppy performance, especially in Sport mode. The motor delivers a satisfying punch, making it engaging to ride. 0 to 60 kmph is done quite quickly. However, the throttle response is inconsistent if you have your finger hovering over the brake levers. Incase you touch the brake lever the power delivery completely cuts off, so if you are in the habit of trail braking you would need to adjust that in your riding style.
The suspension setup (telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers) handled bumps well, ensuring a comfortable ride. The braking system (240mm discs at both ends with a Combined Braking System) offered strong stopping power, though the absence of ABS is a slight drawback. The best part according to me is how light the Revolt RV BlazeX feels, its very easy to maneuver and manage in tight situations.
Charging and Practicality
The BlazeX’s removable battery is a practical feature, but its 20kg weight could be a hassle for those living in buildings without elevators. Charging times are reasonable:
- Standard Charger: 0-80% in 3 hours 30 minutes.
- Fast Charger: 0-80% in 1 hour 20 minutes (available for ₹14,500 separately or ₹4,500 with a trade-in against the standard charger).
- Both chargers take additional 45 mins to make it from 80 to 100%.
The bike also offers additional storage under the tank, which doubles as a cover for the battery.

Verdict: A Solid Step Forward for Electric Commuters
The Revolt RV BlazeX is a compelling option for urban riders looking to transition to electric mobility. It nails the basics with its comfortable ride, practical features, and affordable price tag. Its a proper commuting machine and that it will do effortlessly all day long.
Revolt RV BlazeX: Who Is It For?
The RV BlazeX is ideal for urban commuters who prioritize practicality, affordability, and eco-friendliness over premium polish. It’s a great alternative to 125cc petrol bikes, offering similar performance with the added benefit of lower running costs.
