It takes a lot of effort to become better at something especially when are already quite good at it. The Interceptor 650 from Royal Enfield for 2021 is trying to achieve just that.
For 2021 the changes are primarily limited to tweaks to make it more refined, of-course the BS6 transformation and the new colour options.
The good thing is that even with the change to BS6 there has been no drop in power and torque. This 650 cc twin in-fact is slightly more refined than its predecessor especially at the higher RPM’s.
The throttle response as well is a bit more smoother and combined that with the refined torque filled bottom end, the 2021 Interceptor 650 is a joy to ride. We however wish the foot-pegs positioning could have improved with this update. While it will almost never bother you during a long ride, its primarily in the city traffic that you make contact with it often.
And when it comes to the new colour options, the blue that we have here is spot on classy. Incredibly photogenic and fulfills the saying – ‘Rides as well as it looks’.
