According to Benelli the new Benelli 402S, is a brazen and courageous city-cruiser with a strong personality, designed for those who want to stand out from the crowd every day. With forward set foot-pegs, a comfortable and spacious seat, and contemporary and stylish design, the Benelli 402S should be the perfect bike for the city ride as well as the highways.
The engine on the 402S is the new in-line four-stroke twin cylinder, liquid cooled with four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshaft head one, offering a fluid power delivery for optimum fuel consumption. Its maximum power is 39.4 hp (29 kW) at 9000 rpm, with a torque of 35 Nm (3.6 kgm) at 7000 rpm. The bike has a wet multiplate clutch, 6 speed gearbox, electronic injection with double throttle body measuring 37 mm in diameter.
The steel tube trellis frame emphasises the raw cruiser spirit of this new motorcycle. The suspensions on the front consist of an upside down fork with 41 mm diameter and 125 mm travel, and on the back a swing arm with central mono-shock with adjustable pre-load and a travel of 45 mm. It has a dry weight of 160 kgs.
The braking system on the front end consists of double semi-floating 260 mm diameter discs, and the back end a 240 mm disc, with 4-piston calipers on the front and a single piston at the back. The bike is also obviously equipped with ABS. The 17″ aluminium alloy rims mount 120/70-R17 and 160/60-R17 tyres. The height of the seat is set at 740 mm and is able to offer maximum agility and control of the vehicle. The tank has a capacity of 16 litres, which should be plenty anticipating a 30 km/l mileage.

No official word from DSK Benelli on whether this will come to India, but we are sort of certain that it will. Because with some thing that looks so beautiful, it would be stupid not to. Expect more info at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018.
