Indian Motorcycle has officially launched the 2019 Indian FTR 1200 S and S Race Replica models in the country at INR 14.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) and INR 15.49 lakhs (ex-showroom) respectively. The Race Replica variant has a red trellis frame and differentiated colour scheme while the S variant gets a black frame. The base variant of the FTR 1200 has been skipped for the Indian market.
Inspired hugely by the FTR 750 Scout racing bike, the 2019 Indian FTR 1200 S comes with a V-Twin 1203 cc engine that makes 120 HP and 115 Nm for both variants. There are 6-speed gearboxes for both models as well in tandem with slipper clutches. The FTR 1200 S comes with a 4.3 inch LCD touch screen setup and in-built Bluetooth while ABS can be disengaged as well. There is a 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) from Bosch which enables ABS systems to sense lean angles and adjust accordingly. The IMU also improves traction control and overall stability along with the wheelie-control setup. Both models come with three riding modes for adjusting traction control and throttle responses.

The FTR is Indian Motorcycle’s very first street fighter model and the company is now looking to scale up its overall customer base in India. The bike will be priced quite closer to litre-class naked bike segments in the country. Bookings have already started for an initial payment of INR 2 lakhs and deliveries are expected to commence from April next year.
