Honda has announced that the new Honda Forza 300 is production ready and will reach EU markets by summer this year. This Honda scooter resurfaces with a totally new design that in addition to reinforcing its GT qualities, is now more compact, lightweight and sporty. It also stands out for the incorporation of high level technology, such as electronically adjustable screen, Smart Key, full LED lighting, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) or a new and elegant instrumentation.
The Forza denomination has had a prominent place in the Honda range since its launch in 2000. That first model was already established as a reference in terms of technology, dynamic behavior, design and load capacity. 2018 marks the appearance of a radically revised Forza 300. Following the identity of its successful little sister, the Forza 125 (of which 30,000 units have been sold in Europe since its launch 3 years ago), and improving the characteristics of its ‘GT’ character, it is now more compact, lighter, technological, elegant and sporty.
The new Forza 300 shares its engine with the popular SH300i which is the 279 cc, SOHC, 4 valved, liquid cooled one with electronic injection. It has excellent fuel economy (31 km/l), which gives it a range of more than 350 km with the 11.5 litre tank. All this while producing max power of 24.80 HP @ 7,000 rpm and max torque of 27.2 Nm @ 5,750 rpm.
The wheelbase is now shorter and the steering angle more closer. In addition, it benefits from a significant weight reduction of 12 kg, characteristics that give it a more sporty character while a higher level of performance compared to the previous model.
Among the high level of equipment of the new Honda Forza 300 highlights the new windscreen adjustable electronically along its 140 mm of travel, which ensures maximum aerodynamic protection. Another noteworthy new feature is the incorporation of the detachable Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) which, together with a 2-channel ABS system, guarantees a very high level of active safety.
The revised instrument panel provides extra information in digital format, complementing the analogue dials, and all the lighting is LED.
Undoubtedly, the great load capacity is another of the highlights of the Forza 300, which can accommodate two full-face helmets under the seat. It is also possible to divide the storage area to store a helmet and a rain suit or an A4-sized wallet. The left front glove compartment of the interior fairing has a lock and houses a 12V power socket. All lighting is LED.
The Smart Key (Proximity Key) of the Forza 300 – in addition to controlling the main ignition switch and the seat closure – now also operates the closing of the optional removable 45-litre top box.
The 15-inch front wheel, cast aluminium, is equipped with a tire of 120/70-15, while the rear 14-inch (1 inch more diameter than the previous design) mounted a tire of 140/70- 14, offering maximum traction and ride comfort. A 256 mm front disc is responsible for braking aided by a 240 mm rear disc, with the advantage of having a 2-channel ABS for a perfect braking control on sliding surfaces.
