Latest sightings suggest that Yamaha is testing its FZ FI ( Yamaha FZ V3.0) on the Noida Expressway. The 150 cc 2019 FZ FI now sports extensions for the fuel tank which cover a major chunk of its engine and may also get an LED headlight similar to the FZ 25 from the company. There is an all-new look for the rear-tyre hugger and exhaust muffler as well. The tail light and turn indicators have been taken from the present version and a single-piece seat replaces the split seat accordingly. However, split seats may continue to be offered by the higher-end FZ S variant as per reports.

The current air cooled 149 cc mill may get a few tweaks, it currently makes 13.2 hp and 12.8 Nm of peak torque. These changes will get it ready to meet BS-VI regulations in the future although power figures may change slightly. The rear mono-shock and front forks may  mostly be carried over from the previous version and dual discs (front and back) are expected to be standard. ABS is also compulsory for new motorcycles with capacities exceeding 125cc and hence a single-channel ABS unit may be offered for the new FZ line-up.

The new generation FZ S and FZ FI ( Yamaha FZ V3.0) models may go on sale early in 2019 and the present model competes with the Suzuki Gixxer which is also expected to get an update next year.
