Bajaj is almost ready to launch the 2019 Avenger 220 Cruise ABS in the coming weeks. As per the latest reports, the bike may be priced anywhere around INR 1.02 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) upon its launch and is only costlier by roughly INR 6,700 as compared to the non-ABS version of the bike. The Avenger 180 should also get ABS shortly.
Some dealerships are already taking pre-bookings for the Avenger 220 ABS model and deliveries should start from month end according to reports. The Avenger 220 lineup comes with single-channel ABS in a bid to keep prices at more attractive levels. The ABS addition is in sync with the deadline of 1st April 2019 for implementing Government mandated safety regulations.
The Avenger 220 has a single cylinder 220 cc triple-spark oil cooled engine that makes 19 Ps and 17.5 Nm. There is a 5-speed transmission system and disc brakes at both front and rear in addition to a rear monoshock and telescopic front forks as part of the suspension system. There is a more casual and laid back posture for riding offered by this cruiser in tandem with decent ergonomics.
The Avenger line-up manages to rack up sales volumes of around 5-6,000 units on a monthly basis and more than 3,000 units sold out of this tally is by the Avenger 220. The next generation model may be launched sometime next year.
