The new generation Honda Activa 6G has been seen testing on Indian roads indicating that its launch may take place sometime soon in the country. The 2019 version gets a new LED headlight and redesigned body panels in tandem with new daytime running lights. There will be a front disc brake and telescopic suspension setup with rear drum braking. The new scooter should offer CBS (combined braking system) and a revamped instrument console. Some of the features like the four in one locking system could be retained as well.
The present Activa 5G gets an air cooled 110 cc engine that makes 8 PS and 9 Nm. The new version could have similar figures although the new engine may be tweaked to adhere to upcoming emission norms. The new generation Honda Activa launch may take place during the next festive season. The scooter will take on the likes of the Yamaha Fascino, TVS Jupiter and Hero Maestro Edge in the Indian market after its launch. The present model of the Activa comes at INR 55,000 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and the new generation version is expected to be costlier by approximately INR 5,000.
