Honda has officially commenced taking bookings for its 2019 Honda CBR650R at Wing World dealerships throughout 22 cities in India. The company has confirmed pricing for the bike which will be lower than INR 8 lakhs ex-showroom. Deliveries for the motorcycle are expected to start from around April 2019 while it will be imported through the CKD route and assembled at the Honda plant in the country. Booking amount is at Rs 15,000/-.

This will be a replacement for the CBR650F which has already been phased out. The 2019 Honda CBR650R debuted globally at EICMA 2018 and was also shown at the Thai Motor Expo last year. It gets Showa upside down 41 mm forks and 120 mm travel along with the adjustable rear monoshock, complete with 43.5 mm of wheel-travel.

There is a new overall design with dual-split LED headlights, revamped tail, fuel tank and side fairing and also a digital LCD instrument console with LED lighting. There are superior ergonomics overall with rear-set foot pegs that are positioned higher and rearwards by 6 mm and 3 mm respectively. The new CBR650R gets HSTC (Honda Selectable Traction Control) as well. The 649 cc four cylinder 16 valve in-line DOHC engine dishes out 95 hp and 64 Nm and is mated to a six-speed transmission system with slipper clutch/assist as standard. While the engine has been tuned to behave more sporty, the R badge has ensured that Honda gives it a worthy look to wear the CBR badge unlike that previous F version that looked very sedate.
