For 2025, a updated Yamaha R3 joins Yamaha’s Supersport line-up. This new model joins the R125, R7, and R9, as well as the track-focused R6 RACE and R6 GYTR, alongside the flagship R1 RACE and R1 GYTR. Drawing design and performance inspiration from the R9 and R1 GYTR, this model gives the next generation of riders the opportunity to own a true Supersport motorcycle.
The 2025 R3 boasts a new design that will immediately be recognized by fans of the R Series. Its striking twin-eye face, integrated powerful headlights, and M1-inspired air duct are complemented by new aerodynamic winglets. Powered by a EURO5+ compliant 321cc two-cylinder engine, the R3 also features an Assist & Slipper (A&S) clutch, a new LCD instrument cluster, USB connectivity, and the latest Icon Blue and Midnight Black colors. Smartphone connectivity through Yamaha’s MyRide app further enhances the riding experience by offering access to data and stats about the bike.
Beneath its sleek new bodywork, the R3 is built with a compact, lightweight chassis that balances strength and rigidity. High-specification inverted front forks and a powerful braking system help new riders gain confidence and enjoy the thrill of the ride.

R-DNA Styling
The R3’s new aerodynamic design takes inspiration from Yamaha’s MotoGP M1 machine. As a true member of the Yamaha Supersport family, the R3 not only performs exceptionally but also looks the part, making any rider feel connected to a legitimate Supersport bike.
Its next-generation twin-eyed face is equipped with powerful projector headlights and LED running lights, blending seamlessly into the sculpted bodywork. The integrated M1-derived winglets and aerodynamic body design reduce drag and improve cooling, enhancing the bike’s overall performance. Even when stationary, the R3 gives an impression of speed and will undoubtedly catch attention.
Ease of Entry into R-World
With a lightweight frame weighing only 170 kg, a narrower seat profile, and a seat height of just 780 mm, the R3 is easy to handle and maneuver. These design refinements make it simple for riders to feel secure when coming to a stop.
321cc Engine
The R3 is powered by a 321cc 4-stroke in-line two-cylinder engine that delivers 42 PS at 10,750 rpm and 29.5 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. With Yamaha’s reliability, this engine meets EURO5+ regulations and includes features like lightweight forged aluminum pistons and offset cylinders to enhance combustion efficiency.
A&S Clutch
The R3’s new Assist & Slipper clutch ensures smooth downshifts and precise control over engine braking. An optional Quick Shift System (QSS) is also available for fast and seamless upshifts. Additionally, the A&S clutch reduces lever pressure by 17%, making it easier for riders with smaller hands to manage.
Suspension and Chassis
Equipped with 37mm inverted front forks and a compact, lightweight chassis, the R3 offers excellent feedback during cornering and braking, ensuring stability and control for new riders.
MyRide App and USB Power
The R3 offers smartphone connectivity through Yamaha’s MyRide app, allowing riders to access data such as fuel consumption, engine RPM, and riding logs. A USB Type-A socket is also included for charging devices on the go.
