Raptee.HV, a Chennai-based EV startup, has launched India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle (Raptee.HV T30), utilizing technology commonly found in electric cars worldwide. This advanced technology allows the motorcycle to match the performance of 250-300 cc ICE (internal combustion engine) counterparts while generating significantly less heat.

With its high-voltage (HV) technology, Raptee.HV becomes the first in India to adopt the universal charging standards used by electric cars. The motorcycle features an onboard charger, making it compatible with the 13,500 CCS2 car charging stations across the country, a number expected to double in the coming year.

Priced at ₹2.39 lakhs, the Raptee.HV T30 competes directly with 250-300 cc ICE motorcycles, offering an economical total cost of ownership from the outset, along with the added benefit of being eco-friendly.

The Raptee.HV T30 boasts an IDC estimated range of around 200 km and a real-world range exceeding 150 km per charge, accelerating from 0 to 60 kmph in under 3.5 seconds. The battery pack, which meets IP67 standards, ensures quality and safety, complying with all regulatory requirements. The battery comes with an 8-year or 80,000-kilometer warranty, providing long-term value to customers.

Incorporating advanced software features, Raptee.HV motorcycles deliver an enhanced riding experience. The in-house developed electronics powering the HV technology, combined with a custom-built operating system based on an automotive-grade Linux platform, create a responsive and intuitive user interface. The motorcycles are available in four colors: Horizon Red, Arctic White, Mercury Grey, and Eclipse Black.

Deliveries for the Raptee.HV T30 will begin in Chennai and Bangalore in January, with plans to expand into other key cities depending on the demand for mid-premium motorcycles and electric mobility adoption in these regions. Raptee.HV is also establishing a factory-integrated experience center, “Tech store.HV,” at its headquarters in Chennai, offering immersive experiences including factory tours. The company will provide a range of direct-to-consumer options alongside the traditional brick-and-mortar sales model.

Dinesh Arjun, Co-founder and CEO of Raptee.HV, stated that the goal was not just to create an electric version of an ICE motorcycle but to innovate using advanced electric car technology, engineered specifically for motorcycles. The success of this endeavor, according to Arjun, is a testament to the team’s vision and focus on innovation over the last five years, which has made high-voltage technology for two-wheelers possible.

Jayapradeep Vasudevan, CBO of Raptee.HV, expressed excitement about launching the company’s first motorcycle and setting new standards in the electric two-wheeler industry. With the Indian motorcycle market being double the size of the scooter market and EV penetration still low, Vasudevan sees significant opportunities for growth, beginning with the flagship model, the T30. The brand aims to provide a seamless customer experience with company-owned experience centers and a phased network expansion strategy.

Raptee.HV recently completed its Pre-Series A funding round, led by Bluehill Capital and Artha99 Ventures, and is finalizing its Series A round to support production scaling, dealership expansion, and the rollout of e-bikes across additional states as it grows its presence in the electric mobility sector.
