Ultraviolette has delivered on its promise, setting a new benchmark in Indian motorcycling. At The Valley Run in Aamby Valley on December 1st, the Ultraviolette F99 smashed the ‘Fastest Quarter-Mile for an Indian Motorcycle’ record (certified by FMSCI) with an impressive time of 10.712 seconds. This feat eclipses the previous record set in 2022 and is just the beginning; Ultraviolette plans to pursue another milestone soon by attempting the ‘Highest Top Speed for an Indian Motorcycle.’
A Leap in Technology and Performance
The Ultraviolette F99 is more than just a record-breaker—it’s a testament to the company’s forward-thinking vision and innovation. Designed and engineered entirely in India, the F99 is powered by a next-generation electric powertrain, paired with a state-of-the-art chassis and battery pack. Its cutting-edge features include:
- Full carbon fibre exoskeleton
- Carbon fibre battery pack
- Torque: 972 Nm at the wheel
- Power: 120 hp (90kW)
- 400V Battery Architecture
- Liquid cooled drive train
- Weight: 180 kgs
With breathtaking acceleration, the F99 rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in under 10 seconds, establishing itself as India’s first true superbike and a new standard in high-performance motorcycling.

A Moment of Pride for Indian Innovation
Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette, emphasized the significance of this achievement:
“This is a huge moment of pride for India and Ultraviolette. Historically, we’ve looked to the East or West for the best performance vehicles. At Ultraviolette, we’re changing that narrative using the talent and expertise within India. The record-breaking run of the F99, now ‘The Fastest Indian’ motorcycle, is proof of our engineering and design excellence.”
Adding to this, Niraj Rajmohan, Co-founder and CTO, highlighted the technological breakthroughs behind the record:
“This attempt challenges the limits the industry has imposed on itself. Building peak-performance technology for the F99 required relentless effort and precision across aerodynamics, structural engineering, battery tech, and electronics. We hope the F99 inspires more innovation across India’s tech landscape.”
From Innovation to Accessibility
The Ultraviolette F99 isn’t just about breaking records—it’s also shaping the future of motorcycling. Technologies pioneered for the F99, such as regenerative braking and fast charging, have found their way into the F77 Mach 2, available now at UV Space Stations across India.
Ultraviolette’s relentless pursuit of excellence positions the F99 as a symbol of what’s possible with homegrown ingenuity, heralding a new era for performance motorcycling in India.
