The new Ducati XDiavel V4 for 2025 now merges the performance of the MotoGP-derived V4 engine with a cruiser riding position and the signature elegance that defines all Ducatis. It presents an even more muscular, refined, and high-performance interpretation of the concepts introduced by the original XDiavel 1260.

Designed for riders who seek distinction, the XDiavel V4 caters to enthusiasts drawn to exceptional style and those captivated by the cruiser’s charm, combined with the Dragster performance that has long characterized the XDiavel.

Its design balances muscularity with elegance. While the low and relaxed riding position ensures comfort, it also provides excellent control. The XDiavel V4 commands attention effortlessly, offering a seamless experience from leisurely city rides to dynamic maneuvering through winding roads.

The XDiavel V4 delivers surprising performance. Its 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine sets a benchmark in its category, producing 168 hp and 12.8 kgm of torque. This powertrain ensures a linear response at low revs and a strong torque delivery throughout the range. The counter-rotating crankshaft, combined with a lightweight build of 229 kg (without fuel), enhances agility, making it a standout in the segment.

Unmistakable Design

The XDiavel V4 embodies a striking contrast. Its low and sleek sport cruiser profile, enhanced by light reflections over smooth surfaces, juxtaposes the raw power and advanced technology displayed in its mechanics. Bold shapes, inspired by supercars, are further emphasized by the distinctive four-exit exhaust. Depending on the rider’s intent, the XDiavel V4 can transform from a cruiser gliding along coastal roads to a dragster poised for acceleration.

The muscular fuel tank draws the eye, now available in the new Black Lava and Burning Red colors, specifically developed for the XDiavel V4. These hues create fluid and sophisticated reflections under the light. The front and rear light clusters, along with the dynamic direction indicators, are fully LED, further defining the motorcycle’s identity. The front DRL, featuring a double C profile, creates a striking contrast with the internal texturing of the headlight. The rear light cluster, positioned under the tail fairing, complements the sophisticated design with a “Welcome Effect” when the instrument panel is activated.

A single-sided aluminum swingarm highlights the deep yet visually light rear wheel, fitted with a substantial 240/45 tire. The five-star-shaped machined rims take inspiration from American muscle cars.

For optimal comfort, the rider benefits from a low seat height (770 mm) and a repositioned handlebar, set further back and lowered compared to the XDiavel 1260, facilitating maneuverability. Rear suspension travel has increased by 25 mm, contributing to a more comfortable ride. The passenger also enjoys a significantly larger and thicker seat, enhanced by a standard rear grab handle.

For those seeking a more dynamic riding position, the footpegs can be repositioned rearward using an available Ducati catalog kit. Additionally, the accessory tail fairing allows for a transformation into a single-seater.

MotoGP-Derived V4 Engine

The XDiavel V4 is powered by the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine, a technical innovation that enhances performance, rideability, and efficiency. Featuring a counter-rotating crankshaft, inspired by Ducati’s MotoGP technology, the engine minimizes gyroscopic effects, improving handling. Unique among Ducati V4 engines, this powertrain features a glossy black finish, emphasizing its role in the bike’s design.

With 168 hp and impressive torque delivery (12.8 kgm at 7,500 rpm), the V4 Granturismo offers a balance of power, smoothness, and usability. Its extended maintenance intervals (valve clearance checks at 60,000 km) and advanced cylinder deactivation system ensure efficiency and reduced emissions. The Twin Pulse firing order, coupled with a meticulously designed exhaust, produces a distinctive and evolving engine sound as the system seamlessly transitions between twin-cylinder and four-cylinder operation.

Chassis & Performance

Combining exhilarating V4 Granturismo performance with exceptional agility, the XDiavel V4 offers an engaging and safe ride in all conditions. Its lightweight structure results in a 6 kg reduction compared to the XDiavel 1260 S. The motorcycle is equipped with a 50 mm inverted fork and a fully adjustable rear shock absorber in a cantilever layout.

The result is astonishing acceleration and controlled deceleration. The V4 Granturismo’s power, paired with the 240/45 rear tire and dedicated gear ratios, enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds. The high-performance braking system, featuring 330 mm discs and Brembo Stylema calipers, delivers deceleration values of 11.5 m/s², a level typically associated with racing motorcycles.

Advanced Electronics

A comprehensive and refined electronics package allows riders to maximize the XDiavel V4’s capabilities safely. The motorcycle offers three Power Modes and four Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and Wet), allowing riders to tailor the bike’s performance and safety systems—including Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, and Ducati Wheelie Control—to their preferences.

Additional features such as Cruise Control enhance long-distance comfort, while Ducati Quick Shift (derived from the Panigale V4) facilitates smooth and efficient gear transitions. Launch Control ensures rapid acceleration when required.

The 6.9” TFT color dashboard, featuring an 8:3 aspect ratio (introduced on the Panigale V4), offers Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone pairing, call management, and media controls. An optional Turn-by-Turn navigation system is available via the Ducati Link App. The Optical Bonding technology of the protective glass ensures optimal readability in all lighting conditions.

Customization & Accessories

Ducati Performance offers numerous accessories to enhance the XDiavel V4’s touring capabilities, including semi-rigid 48-liter panniers, a passenger backrest, and additional lighting. Ergonomics can be further refined with a Comfort seat (featuring a thicker foam layer) or a 15 mm lowered seat option.

For sportier aesthetics, a homologated exhaust silencer with titanium end caps, a single-seater tail fairing, and premium machined, carbon, and forged components are available. Red or black brake calipers further personalize the motorcycle’s look.

Colors & Availability

For the first time, the XDiavel V4 is available in two metallic shades: Burning Red and Black Lava. Unlike Ducati’s traditional red tones, Burning Red is distinct, while Black Lava enriches the classic glossy black with warm, sophisticated nuances. These colors emphasize the unique and fiery personality of the XDiavel V4.

The XDiavel V4 is set to arrive in dealerships in May 2025.
