new pulsar ss400 auto expo 2014

Well well, we did not expect this, with the new Pulsar SS400 and the Pulsar CS400 Bajaj has just taken the Auto Expo by storm, properly said, they have pretty much owned it. When Bajaj unveiled these angry looking machines Bajaj was making a statement not just to India but the rest of the world. They are well on track in being a global brand. The Pulsar SS400 the full faired one amongst the 400 revealed today, features twin projectors, ABS and styling that is right out of a Transformer movie. The instrument console and switch gear is the same as that on the Pulsar 200NS. The handle bars are different though. The motorcycle is wide, short and compact and sure look like a lot of fun. The stubby, short silencer looks a class apart. The tail light though is a rather unique piece on the Pulsar SS400, some might say it looks like a certain lady part, not us, some. Over all although a stylish looking motorcycle, it does look a bit bulky, Bajaj have made sure the design incorporates a lot of lines and sharp edges to reduce its visually heavy feel. Coming to the engines on both the Pulsar SS400 and the Pulsar CS400, a fuel injected, 3 valve, 375cc setup will ensure a fun ride with power output close to 42 HP.

2014 Pulsar CS400 - 07

Coming to the new Pulsar CS400 the naked brother, it looks like a big grown up brother of the Pulsar 200NS. The headlight although featuring the same lines of the NS headlight has now been made bigger, more prominent and a different internal design. The biggest surprise in the new Pulsar CS400 is the instrument console. Its something that has a lot of ‘Italian design’ written over it. Nevertheless it looks hot and we must say a leagues ahead of anything, anybody else has to offer currently in this sub 500cc market. Now Bajaj has not yet mentioned a pricing for the new Pulsar SS400 and the Pulsar CS400. We expect a launch later this year post April sometime with a pricing around and below the 2.2L, yes you heard that right, it is definitely going to be that competitively priced. We leave you with the photographs.
