Late last year Yamaha India’s pricing for the new 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1M and YZF-R1 had been leaked thanks to some dealers who were eager to get the word out. At that point of time the prices were found to be at 24 lakh for the R1 and 32 lakh for the R1M. The prices were quite a shock and really made the Yamaha R1 range even more exclusive than it already is. Now though there is finally official word from Yamaha. Well, not exactly a press release but the company website for India has been updated with the new 2015 versions of the R1 along with their prices and available colour options. Surprisingly the prices quoted there are different from the dealer document that had surfaced earlier. The 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 price is now at Rs. 22,34,300/- ex-showroom Delhi and the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1M price is at Rs. 29,43,100/- ex-showroom Delhi. The R1 will be available in two colour options, the Racing Blue and Racing Red. While the R1M will be available in only one colour option, the Silver Blu Carbon.
At this price point the R1M stands right along with the recently launched Kawasaki Ninja H2 and other motorcycles like the BMW S1000RR and the Ducati 1299 Panigale, of which the Ducati is priced much higher at 32.47 lakh. Another key point to note is that the R1M would be a limited edition of sorts and there would be very few units available. Something similar to how the Ninja H2 is being sold here, only 5 units for entire India.
