Bajaj Motorcycles India have just launched the very intriguing new Pulsar AS 200 and the Pulsar AS 150. The price of the Pulsar AS 200 is at Rs. 91,550/- while the Pulsar AS 150 has been priced at Rs. 79,000/-. Both prices are ex-showroom New Delhi and introductory and would go up in the coming months. Both the Pulsar AS 200 and the Pulsar AS 150 come in three colour options and which are Black, Blue and Red. The ‘AS’ stands for Adventure Sport and these Bajaj bikes surely look the part to be in this fun segment. While the Pulsar AS 200 is basically the 200 NS with a half fairing the new motorcycle in this mix is actually the Pulsar AS 150. The Pulsar AS 150 houses Bajaj‘s new 150 cc engine that is based on the bigger 200 cc engine on the 200 NS. It will feature the same triple spark ignition system but will miss out on the liquid cooling. Apart from this the Pulsar AS 150 will also miss out on the rear disc brake. Both bikes are carbureted unlike the recently launched RS 200 which has fuel injection on the same engine. Other key features like the perimeter frame, 4 valve system and the monoshock remain.
Since the Pulsar AS 200 is based on the existing NS, we are pretty sure on what to expect. What is different though is half fairing and the awesome looking headlights. The half fairing will make it a sure hit with the tourers and that headlight looks like it will decimate all. The engine still produces 23.5 PS at 9500 RPM and 18.35 Nm at 8,000 RPM. The Pulsar AS 150 is the bike that we really want to check out. The engine on this 150 cc produces 17 PS of power at 9500 RPM and 13 Nm of torque at 7,000 RPM. Both the bikes are way ahead of competitors in terms of power figures and pricing. Definitely looking forward to test out both these machines.
