What a race weekend it was, the MotoGP Assen round never disappoints. All three races were spectacular and worthy of the Cathedral. Moto3 saw Oliveira pick the top spot after an intense six member battle for the top spot. Moto2 saw Zarco clearly dominating and hunt down Tito for another victory and of course his now trending backflip. But the last Saturday race at Assen will always be known for the battle between the Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. Race direction deciding it as a racing incident as all through the corner Rossi was in front of Marquez. There are a lots of if’s and but’s revolving around the incident, first of all Marquez’s aggressive line that disregards other riders and next is Rossi’s anticipation of such a move and taking full advantage of it. You will never know what the truth really is, but the rules are clear and Rossi wins the MotoGP Assen round and this incident for sure will be debated for as long as MotoGP exists and for sure even after. Looks like this incident will also affect the relationship between the young champion and the old super champion. Rossi somehow more often than not has the ability to come on top when it comes down to a dogfight and this time was no different. Marquez given back in kind for his overly aggressive riding nature and disregard for other riders. Check out the photo sequence below and results after that.
