Triumph Tiger 800 XR IndiaTriumph Motorcycles in India are doing exceptionally well and have been launching new models regularly to feed the huge demand the brand had generated in the country. So just about 3 months into the launch of the Tiger XRx and XCx  the company has launched the Triumph Tiger 800 XR. The Triumph Tiger 800 XR has been priced at INR 10.5 lakh in India and for sure it is a very competitive price. Triumph has achieved this competitive price as the motorcycle is brought into India via the completely knocked down route (CKD).

Feature wise the Triumph Tiger 800 XR is pretty much at par with the other Tiger 800s. It features ride-by-wire, traction control, cruise control and switchable ABS. The suspensions are Showa and are adjustable and couple that with the tubular trellis frame that is powder coated with titanium you have a solid package that can handle the torque laden triple cylinder engine. The engine produces 95 PS @ 9250 RPM and 79 Nm of torque @ 7850 RPM. Kerb weight of the Triumph Tiger 800 XR is at 213 kgs. Basically the 800 cc engine is an over bored and stroked out version of the engine on the Daytona 675, but the similarities end there. There is plenty of low end punch and Triumph has added three riding modes and four throttle maps to further tap the potential efficiently. The Triumph Tiger 800 XR will be available in two colour options and Crystal White and Phantom Black.

The Triumph Tiger 800 XR with the alloy wheels is more an on-road bike than a full fledged off-road machine like the XC series of the Tiger 800. Although it could handle a bit of off-road, it would not be able to handle some real adventure. With the Triumph Tiger 800 XR, Triumph now has a total of 14 motorcycles in India with new versions of the Bonneville, Street Triple and the Speed Triple expected later this year.
