The 2020 BMW G 310 GS has been revealed just a few days ahead of its India launch. BMW Motorrad recently revealed the new G 310 GS adventure tourer. Prices for the motorcycle are yet to be announced, but its list of features and its specs have been revealed.

2020 BMW G 310 GS

The BMW G 310 GS has always been a product of pedigree. It was the first low-capacity adventure tourer from a premium marque and as a result, formed a niche segment. It was launched alongside the BMW G 310 R and both motorcycles were based on the new architecture worked on by BMW and TVS Motor Company as part of their partnership.

The motorcycle impressed everyone with its capabilities and versatility, but the price tag it came with, left everyone disappointed. It was sold at a rather steep price point of Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and as a result, didn’t do too well in the sales department.

In recent times, tough competition from the BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan and now from the KTM 390 Adventure further brought sales down. Adding to this was the unavailability of a BS6 compliant engine from BMW. As a result, the BMW G 310 GS fell off the radar. Now though, it is back with a bang as BMW Motorrad has revealed the new model.

The 2020 BMW G 310 GS comes with several new features and a slight redesign as well. The biggest change in terms of design is up front. The 2020 G 310 GS features an LED headlamp, which has led to a design change. It looks smarter and more modern. It also gets redesigned tank extensions which when combined with the new headlamp, makes it more in-line with the bigger GS models. The rest of the motorcycle remains the same.

The 2020 BMW G 310 GS is available in three colour options. The ‘Polar White’ shade sees the motorcycle decked in plain white with grey side panels. The more interesting colour option though is called ‘Rallye’. With this colour option, the fuel tank is painted in Kyanit Blue Metallic while the frame is coloured Red.

The other colour option is the ‘40 Years GS’ edition which is a tribute to the legendary BMW R 100 GS. In this shade, the motorcycle is painted in Cosmic Black and sports Yellow graphics. The 2020 BMW G 310 GS also comes with lots of new features.

Prices haven’t been revealed yet. However thanks to the increased competition, BMW is expected to price the model at around Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 lower than the previous price tag.  Stay tuned for the prices as BMW Motorrad launches the 2020 G 310 GS on 08 October, 2020.
