The Honda CBR250RR is one of the most-loved motorcycles in the 250cc segment. Even though it has been eluding us in the Indian market for a while now, it has been on sale in various other countries. Now, the 2020 update has been revealed. In terms of styling, it remains almost the same.

In-fact, it comes with new colour schemes that make it look more attractive. Colour schemes available include a Grand Prix Red, Matte Gun Powder Black Metallic, Pearl Glare White, and Grand Prix Red (Stripe).  The real changes though are under the skin.

The 2020 Honda CBR250RR comes with a few updates to the engine that might just help it stand up to the competition. It is still powered by the same liquid-cooled, 249.7cc, parallel-twin engine. For the 2020 model update, the power output has gone up by 2.95bhp and the torque output has gone up by 2Nm.

Therefore the motorcycle now has a maximum power output of 40.43bhp at 13,000rpm and a peak torque output of 25Nm at 11,000rpm. A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel via a slipper clutch. It even gets ride-by-wire and a new suspension setup. All put together, Honda has given the motorcycle a significant update.

It is expected to be launched this September in the Japanese market. The Grand Prix Red colour costs 854,000 Yen (Rs 6.08 lakh) while other colours cost a bit lower, at 821,700 (Rs 5.85 lakh). At this point in time, we in India can only dream of it to be launched here as well. If launched, it would be too expensive, which would lead to lower sales and therefore Honda will not bring it in.
