The 2021 Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6 has been launched in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 4.59 lakh (ex-showroom). It now costs Rs 20,000 lesser than the old BS4 model. The motorcycle remains the same in terms of styling and mechanicals with the engine only receiving changes to make it BS6 emissions norms compliant.

2021 Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6

The Leoncino 500 is Benelli’s scrambler-styled mid-weight offering that has drawn quite a bit of attention to itself thanks to its attractive styling. Now, the BS6 compliant 2021 model has been launched. It remains the same in terms of design and styling.

Up front is the familiar circular headlamp with projector lamps inside them. Right above it is the twin-pod digital-analogue instrument cluster. It features a large, voluptuous fuel tank, a single-piece seat, an exhaust-system that pleases the eyes, and a tyre hugger-mounted registration number plate.

The Benelli Leoncino 500 is still powered by the same liquid-cooled, 500cc, parallel-twin engine. The engine is now BS6 compliant and yet hasn’t lost on power or torque output. It produces 46.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 46Nm at 6,000rpm. A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel. Braking duties are handled by dual 320mm discs up front and a single 260mm disc up front.

Suspension is taken care of by a 50mm upside-down fork up front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear. Benelli is offering a 3-year unlimited kilometre warranty with the motorcycle and it can be booked with a token amount of Rs 10,000. At Rs 20,000 lower than the old BS4 model, the BS6 model makes for a better buy.
