The 2021 CFMoto 300NK BS6 has been launched in the Indian market at Rs 2.29 lakh. CFMoto has now launched the 300NK BS6 nearly a year after the BS4 model was discontinued. The 300NK is CFMoto’s first BS6 emissions norms compliant motorcycle in the Indian market.
The CFMoto 300NK was first launched in the Indian market back in July 2019. It came with a few first-in-segment features and was priced well which gave it a positive response in the Indian market. The 300NK became the bestselling CFMoto motorcycle in the country.
In April 2020 though, things changed for the Chinese brand in India. The more stringent BS6 emissions norms were implemented in India starting April 01, 2020. This simply meant that CFMoto didn’t have any more motorcycles to sell in India because all of them were made to BS4 spec.
Since then, CFMoto has lost traction in India and a few of its dealerships even had to shut down. CFMoto however is hopeful of a revival and has launched the BS6 compliant 300NK in the Indian market. The motorcycle has been launched with a price tag of Rs 2.29 lakh, which is identical to the price tag of the BS4 model.
In terms of the design and styling too, the motorcycle remains similar. It gets the same sharp and edgy design. Up front is an LED headlamp and right above it is a full-colour TFT screen for instrumentation. The fuel tank cowling is sharp and raked while the rear-end is minimalistic. It rides on the same star-shaped 5-spoke alloy wheels and it also retains the underbelly exhaust and tyre hugger-mounted registration number plate.
The CFMoto 300NK BS6 is powered by the same liquid-cooled, 292.4cc, single-cylinder engine. In the BS4 model, it had a maximum power output of 33.5bhp and a peak torque output of 20.5Nm. We do not expect the output to decrease on the BS6 model. A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel.
The CFMoto 300NK BS6 also retains the two ride modes we first saw on the BS4 model — Rain and Sport. Suspension duties are handled by an upside-down fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a single disc at the front and rear, governed by a dual-channel ABS.
CFMoto has certainly nailed the pricing game as the 300NK is priced way below its competitors. Now, it remains to be seen if CFMoto dealerships can get up and running again.
