Yamaha MT-15 made its Indian debut earlier this year and lured in many customers with its predator looks and peppy engine. Now, Yamaha has unveiled the updated and BS 6-compliant model of the bike which is expected to go on sale early next year for a premium of Rs 5,000 over its current price, i.e., Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom).
Changes in the new model
The biggest and most welcoming change in the new 2020 Yamaha MT-15 has to be the added colour option – Ice Fluo Vermillion. It is a white paint job with neon orange alloy wheels. It’s kind of a funky colour which would make the MT-15 stand out of the crowd. It goes with the bike’s streetfighter appearance. Youngsters would love it, however, it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
Apart from the new colour, the 2020 MT-15 also gets a side-stand engine cut off switch, new radial tyre at the rear as standard, and of course, BS 6-compliant engine.
BS 6 engine
Like before, it’s the same engine which Yamaha has fitted in the new BS 6 R15 V3. It churns out 18.3 bhp and 14.1 Nm of torque – slightly lower figures than before – and is mated to the same old 6-speed gearbox. The rest of the bike remains mechanically unchanged.
So what say guys, does the new MT-15 fancy you?
