It has been quite a while since we last talked about the Husqvarna 401. There have been reports in the past suggesting its launch here in India but, of course, with no actual timelines. Now, the latest news tells us that Husqvarna might surprise us by launching the 401 during this upcoming festive season!

Apparently, a few KTM dealerships in Delhi and Mumbai have started accepting unofficial bookings for the Husqvarna 401 for a booking amount of just Rs 5,000. Even though these are unofficial bookings, this could mean that the bike’s launch should be not so far away in the future. And we hope, and we know so do you, that Husqvarna does launch the 401 sometime during the upcoming festive season. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful festival gift?

It is quite obvious that the Huskies in India will be sold via KTM dealerships and the select stores are expected to get a makeover for the same by mid-Oct.

The 401 would be powered by the same 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that powers up the current-gen 390 Duke. Husqvarna might play around with the power and torque delivery to suit the 401’s character. The 401 will also share many other parts from the Duke.

Regarding the price, we are expecting it to cost around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom).

Fingers crossed!
